Corrugated Stainless Steel Sheet

Corrugated stainless steel sheet is a rolled metal panel that has wave-shaped, U-shaped, V-shaped, or custom profiles. The 3D nature of the panels gives it increased rigidity and visual depth.

INOXFURT METAL manufactures custom corrugated stainless steel panels of grades 304 and 316. Profile shape, wave height, wave pitch, thickness, size, surface finishes, and PVD colors can all be customized.

Product Parameters

Corrugated Finish

Corrugated Finish

Flat sheets of stainless steel go through precision rolling processes to form continuous profiles in corrugated shape.

The following are among available profile forms:

  • Wave, U-form, V-form, and special form
  • Custom form in terms of wave height, pitch, and spacing
  • Horizontal or vertical position
  • Naturally formed, brushed, satin or mirror surface finish
  • Black, bronze, gray, titanium, champagne, gold, and other special PVD finishes

Profile feasibility is dependent on thickness of the sheet, bending radius, tools, panel size, and order volume.

Products and Applications:

Products and Applications:

Corrugated panels made from stainless steel can be used in architecture, business, industry, and other commercial ventures.

Products:

  • Facade and exterior wall panels
  • Roofing and canopy panels
  • Interior wall and ceiling panels
  • Partitions and decorative screens
  • Door and column panels
  • Equipment enclosures
  • Custom architectural elements

Applications:

  • Commercial structures
  • Hotels and restaurants
  • Malls and offices
  • Transit centers
  • Exhibits and cultural centers
  • Factories and warehouses
  • Industrial-style interiors

Horizontal profiles add width, while vertical profiles elongate the appearance of an area.

Specifications:

Specifications:

  • Grades: Stainless steel 304 and 316
  • Common sizes: 1000 × 2000 mm, 1219 × 2438 mm, 1219 × 3048 mm
  • Thickness: 5–2.0 mm
  • Lengths: 2000, 2438, 3048, and 4000 mm
  • Width: Standard and custom widths
  • Profiles: Wave, sinusoidal, U-shaped, V-shaped, or custom
  • Finishes: Natural, brushed, satin, mirror, and PVD-coated
  • Structure: Three-dimensional roll-formed sheet
  • Protection: PVC protective film
  • Packaging: Wooden case, pallet, or reinforced metal frame

Thickness and profile should be selected according to panel span, support spacing, wind load, fixing method, and appearance requirements. Final dimensions should be confirmed through approved drawings or samples.

Comparison of 304 and 316 grades:

Comparison of 304 and 316 grades:

304 Stainless Steel

Grade 304 is suitable for most interior and mild outdoor applications.

Advantages:

  • Good formability
  • Lower material cost
  • Wide availability
  • Suitable for ceilings, partitions, doors, columns, and sheltered façades

Limitation:

It may develop staining or corrosion in coastal, chloride-rich, polluted, or poorly maintained environments.

316 Stainless Steel

Grade 316 contains molybdenum and provides improved corrosion resistance.

Advantages:

  • Better resistance to chloride exposure
  • Suitable for coastal, humid, and industrial environments
  • Longer service potential in demanding exterior applications

Limitations:

  • Higher material cost
  • Forming settings may require adjustment

Grade 316 is not completely corrosion-proof. Surface finish, fabrication quality, drainage, contamination, and maintenance must also be considered.

Highlights of the Corrugated Effect:

Highlights of the Corrugated Effect:

Increased Rigidity

The profiled sheet shows greater rigidity and resistance to bending and deformation than a plain sheet with the same thickness. The effectiveness of the sheet will depend on the profile depth, sheet thickness, span, support structure and mounting.

Architectural Depth

Continuous ribs give the feeling of repetition, shadows and motion. The different depths of the profile will provide either a smooth texture or an industrial effect.

Water Draining

When installed correctly, corrugated ribs will assist in draining water off roof and wall panels. Performance will depend on the slope, overlaps, flashing, sealant and fastening.

Flexible Adaptation

Sheet profile, depth, pitch, size, finishing and color can be modified for facade, ceiling, doors, columns and custom architectural elements.

Durable Surface

Stainless steel provides durability, corrosion resistance and non-combustibility. Selection of the right material grade and regular cleaning will preserve the surface.

Compatibility of the System

Corrugated stainless steel can be combined with insulation materials, backing panels, membrane and supporting structure.

The sheet itself is not a thermal or sound insulation material. Required acoustic, thermal and fire protection properties should be reached with the entire system.

FAQs
Can the corrugated stainless steel's wave pattern and dimensions be customized?
Yes. The corrugated shape (e.g., wave, U-shaped, V-shaped), wave height, wave spacing, and other parameters can all be customized based on the mold.
The corrugated structure significantly enhances the rigidity and deformation resistance of the sheet material, making it stronger than flat sheets of the same thickness. It is suitable for large spans or applications requiring structural strength.
It is very suitable. Selecting 316 grade corrugated stainless steel, its excellent weather resistance and structural strength make it an ideal material for outdoor building exteriors.
The concave and convex structure of the corrugated sheet may cause dust to accumulate in the recesses, but this can usually be cleaned by washing with rain or simply wiping.
Yes. PVD coating can impart a variety of color effects to corrugated stainless steel, such as black corrugation or bronze corrugation, enhancing its industrial or modern look.
